Death of two students of prestigious Sherwood College in Nainital, in a mishap has gained political proportions with Shiv Sena joining protests and demanding action against its principal.
Shiv Sena workers and student union leaders of Kumaun University staged a demonstration at the premises of the convent school yesterday, official sources said today.
Students on a fun-trip to the Jim Corbett National Park in Ram Nagar last Sunday had met with the accident as tractor-trolley overturned leaving two killed and 25 injured.
A group of youths led by Shiv Sena and the student's union reached the Sherwood College gate asking for a meeting with principal Amandeep Sandhu. When they were denied permission, they entered the school. A staff member of the school sustained injuries in the melee, police said.
