Pilgrims Requested not to come Badrinath Temple

The Government of Uttarakhand On July 19, 09 issued an advisory asking pilgrims not to come to Badrinath temple for time being because Badrinath temple was cut off from the rest of the State. There is a cloudburst in Chamoli district of Uttaranchal state.

Mr. Arun Dhaundiyal District Magistrate of Chamoli issued the advisory asking pilgrims not to visit Badrinath temple for time being. Around 1000 pilgrims were struck at different positions in and around of Badrinath. Chamoli district management is trying to make available the basic amenities like food, cloths to them. Due to cloudburst a big stretch of road at Lambagar was cracked last night.

For the time being, Border Roads Organization (BRO) people have started work to renovate the road and clear garbage on the Badrinath-Rishikesh highway at Lambagar. Badrinath-Rishikesh highway is already a highly delicate zone in the Himalayan belt.

The road estimated to be renovated by Wednesday on 22 July 09.
