Chaukori is a small township located in the Kumaon region of the Uttrakhand state’s at Pithoragarh district. It is situated in the lap of Himalaya, giving a pleasant view of the beauty of nature. Air: The nearest airport is Naini-Saini Airport about 90km from Chaukori which is not functioning still. The Pant nagar airport about 230km from Chaukori provides the domestic services from major cities of the country.

Rail: The nearest railway station is the Kathgodam railway station, which is about 210 km from Chaukori. The railway station provides connectivity with all major cities across India.

Road: Chaukori is connected to the all parts of country with road connectivity. Crossing through the mountains Chaukori is 485 km from the capital “Delhi” and about 215 km from the commertial city of Kumaon region “Haldwani”. Providing the proper facility of transport by road , tourists have multiple choices to choose the way to reach to Chaukori. Taxi or bushes can be hired at any hill station. The most convenient way to get here is to drive from Delhi, via Haldwani – Almora.

Chaukori Tourist Attractions:

Patal Bhuvaneshwar: It is situated 38 kms from Chaukori in Uttaranchal, at a height of 1350 mtrs, on the road to Gangolighat. The temple here is within a cave. It’s believed to be the abode of 33 crore Gods.

Berinag: It is at the distance of 10 kms from Chaukri. Tea gardens here yield high quality tea. This place also offers a panoramic view of the Himalayas.

Gangolihat: Gangolihat is 14 kms far from Patal Bhubaneshwar. Gangolihat is rich in folk culture, music and religious traditions and had been chosen by Shankaracharya for the installation of Mahakali Shaktipeeth.
